The Malaysia Global Business Forum will organise a Rural Economic Development Roundtable and related site visits in Perak, Malaysia from the 9th & 10th of April, 2018. The overall program will include a one day site visit to Tanjung Malim – Community Projects & Investment Sites, Press Engagement, Roundtable Conference & Workshop to consolidate the overall findings and to identify the opportunities for CSR engagement & Social Investment into the rural economy.
The Malaysia Global Business Forum will organise the Rural Economic Development Roundtable Series, a comprehensive series of events designed to identify real market opportunities in Wilayah Perak Selatan – WPS (Southern Perak Region). Engineered to engage community, corporate and government stakeholders within the four growth nodes for those looking for high growth business opportunities in the identified industry sectors.
The Malaysia Global Business Forum has chosen to focus on the South Perak Region as it’s currently the most undercapitalised of the NCER, its’ close proximity to the Klang Valley makes it an attractive option for local and international investors. In the coming years, Malaysian retail investors in the form of home buyers will also see this as an attractive option thus making it a perfect convergence for companies looking for their next growth opportunity.
Southern Perak Region’s potential has yet to be fully realised in the context of local, regional and international markets. It is strategically located in between Malaysia’s two key industrial centres of Greater Klang Valley and Penang. Excellent logistics access through the double tracking and existing highways link it to the One-Belt One Road Initiative by China at a fraction of the cost of other regions in Malaysia and ASEAN. As a first mover you will be building the relationships needed to take advantage of these opportunities before your competitors.
The engagement strategy for the initial roundtables is to focus on effective social investment and community engagement projects in WPS and broader Perak that will make a difference to both target communities and the bottom line of corporations involved. First-hand experience in the region through CSR programmes and industry-
community partnership programs, will be coupled with business matching, investment opportunity identification, learning about the broader strategic plan and high level stakeholder meetings to explore what your company can actively contribute to the region’s sustainable growth will make up the second component.
Participation validates the leadership profile of your organisation in the industry and positions your company to gain maximum access to the Southern Perak Region (WPS). The Malaysia Global Business Forum will ensure that the local and international media will be engaged making this a cost effective opportunity to showcase your brand to an influential audience.
Several awards will be presented to those organisations and individuals who have made significant contributions in this field. MGBF is seeking nominations from the corporate sector for those who have existing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in Perak, especially those that have looked to improve the economic conditions of the rural communities.
A key output of the program will be to prepare a “Sustainable Rural Development Strategy Framework” to the Perak State Government and updates on the status of rural development. The interactive “Charrette” session will allow the participating delegates and experts to identify innovative ways to increase sustainable development in the state. The MGBF Advisory Group who will contributing time and resources on a pro-bono basis will consolidate and present the findings as a possible future for rural communities in the state. This approach will allow participant to not only learn but to contribute.
The program is jointly organised by Tomorrow’s Leaders Summit, which is the leading platform for young leaders looking to contribute to developing a sustainable future through the “People, Planet & Profit” approach. To become a corporate sponsor (click to receive detailed information)
