Aussie songstress Sandra will be returning to Bobo KL for an unusual night of music: glimpses of the bizarre, burlesque and the sleazy streets of early 20th century Europe (a couple of songs will be in German, and you will still get the meaning!) and today.
She will also sing some well-known classics and witty songs from the last 40 years and will be joined by a couple of exciting guest performers.
To keep with the theme, lady audience members are welcome to come dressed up in their best corsets or the like to be in the running for nightly prizes.
Sandra has been involved in a few musical productions in KL: Saidah Rastam’s M! the Opera, The Actors Studio’s Adam the Musical (playing the villain!), the inaugural Short + Sweet Musical Theatre (Nick Choo’s winning Little Girl Lost) and The KL Players’ British pantos, to name a few. Besides regular gigs at Ril’s Bangsar, including a sell-out Aussie show Land Down Under! with Alex Terry, she’s had some successful solo shows at Theatre Lounge Cafe and Bobo KL: Dis n Dat, showcasing a broad repertoire; Are You Serious? a unique cabaret show of Bertolt Brecht/Kurt Weill classics and witty English songs (Lehrer, Stilgoe & Skellern, Eric Idle); ReVamped! a show of songs reworked into entirely different genres; and I’m a Stranger Here Myself, an eclectic repertoire.
The talented musicians of InTown: Loh Ui Li on the Bobo grand, Ayam Sorga on percussiom and Iqbal on cello, and guest performers, Bkay Nair and Leone Carroll, will make this a must-see show with a difference!
